Construcción de un índice de competitividad para el sector avícola colombiano

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo plantea la construcción de un índice de competitividad para el sector avícola colombiano. Para construir el índice compuesto de competitividad se propusieron, mediante análisis de componentes principales (ACP), cuatro dimensiones que explican la competitividad. Estas dimensiones son: conocimiento (IC: 33,62%), dimensión productiva (IP: 26,94%), dimensión económica (IE: 26,84%) y dimensión tecnológica (IT: 12,57%). Se encontró que las regiones más competitivas en 2002 fueron, en orden descendente: Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca y Antioquia. Se puede concluir que la competitividad es un fenómeno multidimensional y que las variables asociadas con el origen de los recursos económicos estuvieron estrechamente relacionadas con las otras variables consideradas.
