Ciclo financiero de referencia en Colombia

Abstract

RESUMEN: En el presente trabajo se establecen las fechas de origen y finalización del ciclo de algunas variables financieras en Colombia y se construye un ciclo financiero de referencia para el país. Dentro de las variables analizadas se encuentran el Índice General de la Bolsa de Valores de Colombia, la razón de cartera de créditos sobre PIB, la cartera de consumo de los establecimientos de crédito y el indicador de rentabilidad sobre el activo de las instituciones bancarias. También se analiza el grado de sincronización del ciclo financiero con el de los negocios y con algunas variables de mercado como la tasa de interés pasiva. Se concluye que desde 1990 hasta 2013 se han presentado tres ciclos financieros completos. Además, se encuentra evidencia a favor de la sincronización entre el ciclo de los negocios y el financiero, y de este último con la tasa de interés de mercado.
