Medición económica del deporte en Colombia: una propuesta metodológica de cuenta satélite

Abstract

Resumen: El estudio del deporte desde la perspectiva económica ha logrado importancia en los círculos académicos, especialmente por su reconocimiento como un sector económico con las mismas características de los sectores tradicionales. Consecuentemente, y ante la inexistencia de estudios que intenten valorar el deporte en la economía colombiana, este artículo tiene como objetivo central presentar una propuesta metodológica de Cuentas Satélite para el deporte en Colombia. En este sentido, nuestra principal contribución es el diseno teórico de un sistema contable, basado en el Sistema de Cuentas Nacionales de la ONU, capaz de explicar el comportamiento de las actividades económicas en el deporte, partiendo de los flujos circulatorios de la renta y el producto.Abstract: Sports economics has acquired relevance among scholars and as a field because of the salience of sports as an economic sector. Parting from this idea and a lack of studies measuring the value of sports in the Colombian economy, this paper proposes a Satellite Accounts methodology for valuing sports in Colombia. Hence, the main contribution of this study is a theoretical design of an accounting system based on the Nationals Accounts System of the United Nations. Also, following a circular flow of income and product approach, this framework depicts the main economic activitiesrelated to sports in Colombia.
