Canales de búsqueda de empleo en Ibagué: una aproximación a su estudio

Abstract

Resumen: Usando los datos provenientes de la GEIH del DANE para el III trimestre de 2009, se analizan los canales de búsqueda de empleo para los desempleados en la ciudad de Ibagué. Se muestra el papel que cumplen estos métodos en el emparejamiento entre los individuos que desean emplearse y las empresas que registran vacantes. Los canales de búsqueda de empleo se dividen en informales y formales, en los primeros existe acceso a información privilegiada mientras que en los segundos no. Los resultados indican que los canales informales son los más usados. Adicionalmente, se encontró que las características personales de los buscadores de empleo como su nivel educativo y su edad, inciden en la selección de los canales de búsqueda de empleo.
