Análisis de la Inflación de Cali y Colombia 1955-2005

Abstract

Este artículo presenta un análisis comparativo de la evolución de la inflaciónanual de Cali respecto a la nación, medida por la variación del índice de precios al consumidor, IPC, durante 1955 - 2005. En general, la inflación de Cali y la de Colombia presentan un comportamiento similar de largo plazo identificado en tres grandes períodos: alta variabilidad (hasta principios de la década del setenta), tendencia creciente (hasta mediados de los noventa), y tendencia decreciente (hasta 2005). Al observar las series en períodos más cortos y en su composición por niveles de gasto e ingreso, Cali y otras ciudades principales del país muestran algunas diferencias.
