La monopolización y transnacionalización del capital

Abstract

Este artículo revisa, de manera sucinta, el proceso de monopolización y transnacionalización en el sistema capitalista, partiendo de las previsiones iniciales de Adam Smith y Carlos Marx, con énfasis en el paso del capitalismo de libre competencia al capitalismo monopolista, sobre la base de la concentración de la producción y la centralización del capital, lo que lleva al surgimiento y consolidación de las empresas transnacionales. Para finalizar, se presenta una rápida “radiografía” de la aparición «precoz» de monopolios en una economía periférica y atrasada, como la colombiana, y el peso relativo de los grandes grupos financieros en las décadas finales del siglo veinte y principios del veintiuno.
