Los orígenes de la desindustrialización colombiana

Abstract

La industrialización colombiana ha seguido una trayectoria errática. Pese a que sus inicios se remontan a comienzos del siglo XX, prematuramente experimentó un declive, evidenciado en la declinación de su peso relativo en el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), junto al auge de las actividades terciarias.Este cambio estructural aceleró las tendencias desindustrializadoras, que no han podido revertirse por la ausencia de una política industrial activa. Desde el punto de vista de la dinámica regional la industria manufacturera ha registrado la permanencia de un patrón de localización concentrador de las principales variables sectoriales (número de establecimientos, empleo y producción) en los departamentos de mayor gravitación económica.
