Abstract

este artículo describe y compara el modelo de regulación de costos con información completa para monopolios naturales, con modelos que presentan asimetrías e información incompleta como el modelo de Baron y Myerson de regulación de monopolios naturales con selección adversa, y el modelo de gestión de Laffont y Tirole con riesgo moral. Los modelos se analizan dentro de un esquema de principal-agente en su versión discreta de dos tipos, donde se resaltan las distorsiones causadas por las rentas de información que el agente obtiene debido a que el regulador no conoce el verdadero parámetro de costos marginales de la firma, o el nivel de esfuerzo que disminuya los costos de operación.
