Innovaciones y exportaciones: una nueva perspectiva de estudio de la industria manufacturera uruguaya

Abstract

En el artículo se investiga si las actividades de innovación, así como las innovaciones realizadas por las empresas industriales manufactureras uruguayas, inciden en la probabilidad de que sean empresas exportadoras. La implementación empírica se basa en modelos logit aplicados a los microdatos de la Encuesta de Actividades de Innovación de la Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación para el período 2013-2015. Los resultados muestran que, para predecir si una empresa es exportadora, son más importantes la innovación en comercialización y las actividades de investigación y desarrollo internos y de estudio de mercado. Un aspecto adicional de relevancia es que la presencia de capital extranjero, así como la existencia de apoyo estatal a las actividades de innovación, también contribuye a esa probabilidad.
