Canopy River - medio ambiente, sociedad y rentabilidad: un equilibrio estratégico en la empresa turística rural

Abstract

El presente caso de estudio muestra la combinación de estrategias de negocios fundamentadas en el cuidado del entorno y beneficio social, que la companía Canopy River ha utilizado para la generación de utilidades en el contexto del turismo de aventura. La estrategia de investigación para el estudio incluyó entrevistas en profundidad, revisión documental, observación y la interacción con la comunidad de la organización para identificar las acciones realizadas entre el 2007 y 2016. Los resultados muestran las características generales de la organización y las de su ambiente, las medidas estratégicas de rentabilidad y crecimiento, cuidado ambiental y contribución social, así como razonamientos respectivos del caso que dan cuenta del equilibrio entre los elementos estratégicos observados.
