Abstract

El objetivo principal del caso es presentar cómo una empresa puede responder frente a un requerimiento de autoridad ambiental regional, con un planteamiento estratégico basado en la ecoeficiencia y la ecología industrial, con el fin de proyectar en la empresa un desarrollo sostenible. Resalta cómo el recurso hídrico, siendo el principal elemento táctico de las operaciones de la mayoría de las empresas, es ignorado, sin posibilidades de agotamiento y llama la atención a la alta gerencia, siendo necesario un cambio conceptual, ya que muchas de las jefaturas ambientales no reciben el apoyo necesario para la implementación de nuevas tecnologías amigables con el medio ambiente.
