Abstract

Tesis central de este trabajo es la de que los exportadores privados de café durante la denominada Bonanza Cafetera realizaron maniobras especulativas, no propiamente benéficas para la economía nacional y que "Esto ocurrió porque ante las expectativas de incremento de los precios, los exportadores privados dominaron el mercado interno, desplazaron la Federación en la compra de grano, y procedieron a acumular inventarios, con el fin de maximizar sus ganancias, esperando exportar esas existencias cuando los precios llegaran a sus niveles máximos".
