Abstract

Se explica el significado económico de la retención, y se reduce el mercado cafetero a uno en el cual FEDECAFÉ es el único exportador. A continuación se desarrolla una metodología que presenta de forma conceptualmente clara las finanzas del Fondo Nacional del Café (FNC. Aplicamos dicha metodología y obtenemos algunas conclusiones interesantes: i) las finanzas del FNC son muy sensibles a la tasa de cambio real, ii) el subsidio al cosumo interno es uno de los principales egresos del Fondo, iii) la acumulación y desacumulación de inventarios juega un papel determinante en el resultado financiero del FNC
