La esterilidad de la economía del equilibrio: un aspecto de la sociología de la ciencia

Abstract

Este artículo muestra que la ciencia económica no ha alcanzado la madurez y que la teoría del equilibrio no capta las relaciones económicas reales y es estéril para formular políticas económicas. Analiza la formación de castas entre los economistas, la imposibilidad de formalizar todos los fenómenos económicos en términos de optimización individual y los sesgos ideológicos del trabajo científico. Indica la necesidad de replantear las hipótesis básicas del enfoque del equilibrio general y de reconstruir el aparato analítico de la economía. Con base en la filosofía de Krishnamurti, muestra que la fuerza motriz de la conducta humana es la envidia y no el egoísmo, y que esta motivación resta validez a la teoría tradicional del comportamientode los individuos y las empresas.
