Colombia tras diez anos de reformas políticas y económicas

Abstract

El objetivo de este ensayo es examinar el desempeno de Colombia durante los anos noventa y , en particular, porqué la economía se tornó más inestable y vulnerable y con un crecimiento más débil que en épocas anteriores, no obstante la gran amplitud y profundidad de las reformas políticas y económicas puestas en marcha. Para ello el autor presenta, primero, las principales reformas adoptadas y los debates que suscitaron; en segundo lugar, efectúa un examen de la economía política de las reformas y sus implicaciones sobre el funcionamiento económic; en tercer lugar, analiza las circunstancias que llevaron a un auge transitorio e insostenible y que luego desembocaron en la severa crisis de finales del decenio. Finalmente, el autor destaca algunos de los cambios esenciales que se requieren en el actual patrón de crecimiento del país, como condición para alcanzar un desarrollo sostenido, estable y equitativo.
