Crecimiento económico y balanza de pagos: evidencia empírica para Colombia

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se caracteriza el vínculo entre el sector externo y el crecimiento para el caso colombiano durante el periodo 1952-2000 y se llega a verificar la ley de Thirlwall en ese periodo. Es decir, que existe una relación de largo plazo entre el crecimiento del PIB y el crecimiento de las exportaciones, las elasticidad ingreso y precio de la demanda de importaciones y la tasa de cambio real. Siendo la tasa de crecimiento de 4,4% el centro de gravedad hacia el cual tendió el país en el largo plazo.
