La economía y la economía política del atraso y del desatraso: notas sobre la Estrategia del desarrollo económico de Hirschman

Abstract

La obra de Hirschman (1958) es precursora de una rama importante de la nueva teoría del crecimiento y del desarrollo económico. Su teoría económica se basa en la importancia de los enlaces y, por ende, en supuestos no walrasianos sobre externalidades, economías de escala y competencia imperfecta. De su teoría surge su recomendación de un Estado proindustrialista que lidere el proceso de desatraso. De la comparación de casos de industrialización e intervención del Estado en la economía como los de Corea del Sur y Colombia se podría deducir que los asuntos de Economía Política son tan importantes como los de teoría económica para explicar (y distinguir entre) los casos hirschmanianos de mayor y menor éxito.
