Abstract

Die geriatrische Langzeitpflege befindet sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen demografischen Herausforderungen und budgetären Engpässen. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, die wesentlichen Probleme und Entwicklungsperspektiven herauszuarbeiten. So wird es in Österreich notwendig sein, verstärkt in Richtung Sachleistungen bzw. zweckgebundener Geldleistungen zu gehen. Für die kommenden Jahre ist mit einem deutlichen Abnehmen der informellen, familiären Pflege zu rechnen. Dieser Strukturwandel hin zur professionellen Pflege, insbesondere der ambulanten sozialen Dienste. wird einen deutlichen Ausgabendruck erzeugen. Die Arbeit zeigt anhand einer Projektion, welche Strukturänderungen die höchsten Dynamiken erzeugen werden und wie stark längerfristige Prognosen von den dahinterstehenden Annahmen abhängig sind.
