La problemática de la racionalidad y la bioética

Abstract

La comprensión de la “ciencia”, la “filosofía” y la “moral” depende en cierta medida dela comprensión de lo racional, entonces, es claro que el problema de fondo es: ¿cuálesson los fundamentos que tienen las diversas “filosofías” para estipular lo racional? Así,lo que a continuación exponemos es el carácter problemático de la racionalidad, particularmente,la oscilación de la bioética entre dos paradigmas de la moral, cuyas nocionesde racionalidad están en disputa. Para ello, dividimos la exposición en tres apartados:primero, describimos el contexto filosófico en el cual surge la bioética; luego, una brevehistoria de la bioética y el ámbito de esta disciplina; en seguida, desarrollamos la problemáticade la racionalidad bajo Nicolas Rescher, y finalmente, ejemplificamos dostipos de paradigma de la ética: 1) la phronesis aristotélica y 2) el imperativo categóricokantiano, en las cuales la racionalidad juega distinto papel.
