L’Inde au défi d’ajuster son modèle de développement

Abstract

En avril-mai 2019 s’est tenu le 17e`me scrutin le´gislatif indien pour renouveler la Lok Sabha (la chambre basse) et de´signer le nouveau Premier ministre. L’occasion de revenir sur la capacite´ d’un mode`le de croissance fonde´ sur les services a` assurer le de´veloppement. Dans les anne´es 2000, la croissance e´conomique indienne a se´rieusement acce´le´re´. Le secteur des services a continue´ d’en e^tre le moteur principal, l’industrie manufacturie`re, le maillon faible. Cependant, la croissance est devenue de plus en plus pauvre en emplois. Cette carence obscurcit l’horizon du mode`le de de´veloppement indien : les transformations structurelles s’en trouvent entrave´es et les ine´galite´s s’accroissent.
