Entree du Royaume-Uni dans la zone euro a quelle parite ? Quels effets sur la politique monetaire ? Quels dangers pour le Royaume-Uni?

Abstract

Le Royaume-Uni et la zone euro presentent des differences structurelles importantes concernant la nature des financements, la flexibilite du marche, la taille relative de l'industrie et des services. Ces differences jouent un rôle, d'une part dans le choix de la meilleure parite d'entree pour la livre sterling, d'autre part de la determination de la politique monetaire de la zone euro apres l'entree du Royaume-Uni, enfin dans la formation des effets sur le Royaume-Uni de l'entree dans la monnaie unique. Nous etudions ces questions, a l'aide d'un modele theorique a deux pays, faisant intervenir le commerce exterieur avec le reste du Monde, une representation simple de la formation des salaires, des prix, du taux de change avec le dollar.
