Naturkatastrophen und ihre politischen Auswirkungen: Evidenz von der Flut 2013 in Bayern

Abstract

Vielerorts nehmen Anzahl und Intensität von Extremwetterereignissen durch die Klimaerwärmung zu. Um der Frage nachzugehen, welche politischen Parteien hierbei in den anschließenden Wahlen profitieren, untersucht Jonathan Kirschner die Auswirkungen des Jahrhunderthochwassers in Bayern aus dem Jahr 2013 auf die Wahlergebnisse der Landtags- und Bundestagswahlen. Die Ergebnisse für die Landtagswahl 2013 zeigen signifikant positive Effekte der Flut für die Amtsinhaberpartei CSU und signifikante negative Effekte für die Oppositionsparteien. Für die Bundestagswahl wurden keine vergleichbaren Ergebnisse gefunden.
