Wohlstand für Alle? Gemeinsame Betrachtung von Wachstum und Ungleichheit in Deutschland und Europa

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag untersucht, inwiefern das von Ludwig Erhard proklamierte Ziel „Wohlstand für Alle“ in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland im Zeitraum 1962–2019 erreicht wurde. Die Analyse basiert auf einem Indikator, der das preisbereinigte Bruttoinlandsprodukt pro Kopf um die Ungleichheit in den verfügbaren Einkommen und um die Armutsrisikoquote korrigiert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Bundesrepublik Deutschland in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten trotz einiger Rezessionsjahre eine stabile wirtschaftliche Entwicklung verzeichnen konnte. Das um Ungleichheit und Armutsrisiko korrigierte BIP ist seit der Wiedervereinigung etwas schwächer gewachsen als das nicht-korrigierte Pro-Kopf-Einkommen. Im europäischen Vergleich liegt Deutschland im oberen Mittelfeld.
