Impfungen gegen Covid-19: Wie Krisenerfahrung die Präferenz für Impfungen und die Impfgeschwindigkeit bestimmt

Abstract

Eine neue Studie zeigt, dass Krisenerfahrung die Präferenz für Impfungen gegen Covid-19 und die Impfgeschwindigkeit im Winter 2020/2021 erhöht hat (Gründler et al. 2021). Wir entwickeln eine Theorie zum Einfluss von Krisenerfahrung auf Impfverhalten und testen diese anhand von Mikro- und Makrodaten. Die Ergebnisse der Mikrodaten zeigen, dass Individuen insbesondere dann eine ausgeprägte Präferenz für Impfungen gegen Covid-19 hatten, wenn sie in ihren prä- genden Lebensjahren (Alter: 18–25) Krisen erlebt haben. Die Makrodaten zeigen, dass sich diese Impfpräferenzen auf die Impfgeschwindigkeit niederschlagen: Staaten, die im Winter 2020/2021 besonders viele Impfdosen im Inland verabreicht haben, waren im Mittel besonders krisenerfahren. Krisen wirken lange nach. Die Lehren aus der Covid-19-Pandemie können helfen, auf die nächste Krise besser vorbereitet zu sein.
