G20 Compact with Africa – a New Approach to Economic Cooperation with African Countries

Abstract

In their article Ludger Schuknecht, Johannes Wolff, German Federal Ministry of Finance, Andreas Gies and Stefan Oswald, German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, look at the development policy approach of the "G20 Compact with Africa" and explain that by founding of the Compact-Initiative as part of the G20, Germany has broadened the spectrum of its (development policy) instruments and has opted for a private-sector oriented approach.
