Abstract

In the course of the EU enlargements, the intra-European migration to Germany increased steadily. However, according to the latest figures of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees for January to September 2016, for the first time since 2010, the level of immigration has fallen by 9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, January to September 2015. The steady increase in immigration does not appear to have continued in 2016
