Does the Property Tax Have a Future?

Abstract

A Bundesrat (second parliamentary chamber) initiative on property tax reform was approved at the beginning of June 2016. This reform proposal was presented and discussed in the ifo Schnelldienst 18/2016 by several experts. In a supplementary article, Gerhard Graf argues for the property tax to be replaced.
