Abstract

This year's Ifo Industry Colloquium, which was once again supported by the Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs and the Media, Energy and Technology, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria, was held on 9 November 2016. After a welcome speech by the Managing Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria, Peter Driessen, Ifo President Clemens Fuest, gave a speech on: "The economic situation in Germany and Europe". The speech was followed by four branch forums. To wind up the event, Ludger Wößmann, Director of the Ifo Center for the Economics of Education, examined the question of: "Integration through qualification: the opportunities and challenges of immigration."
