Notes on the climate: What’s in store next for biogas?

Abstract

A closer look at the development of the bioenergy sector reveals that its success has always been closely linked to the promotion policies for renewable energy. With the most recent amendment to the Renewable Energy Sources Act on 1 August 2014, the further success of the biogas industry is threatened due to massive cuts in subsidies.
