Abstract

While there have been no major steps forward in the EU’s political accession negotiations with Turkey in recent years, bilateral economic relations have developed very positively. With trade in goods growing steadily, Turkish manufacturing is now very closely tied to the European economy. This article highlights the trade relations between the EU/Germany and Turkey and reveals potential institutional challenges for Turkish-European relations that could arise in the framework of the EU’s most recent trade policy.
