Erneuerbare Energieträger zur Stromerzeugung unterschiedlich nah an der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit

Abstract

Gegenwärtig ist Strom aus erneuerbaren Energiequellen in Deutschland mit Ausnahme der Erzeugung durch Laufwasserkraftwerke nicht wettbewerbsfähig gegenüber der konventionellen Stromerzeugung. Ein wesentlicher Grund dafür ist die geringe Energiedichte des Dargebots an erneuerbaren Energieträgern, insbesondere von Wind und Sonne. Um diese Energien nutzbar machen zu können, sind umfangreiche, über große Flächen verteilte Investitionen erforderlich. Das gilt aber auch für den Einsatz großer Mengen von Biomasse, für deren Produktion große Flächen benötigt werden.
