Leasing back in the fast lane: 12% growth in equipment leasing in 2011 – dampened expectations for 2012

Abstract

The rapid increase in business investment in the first half of 2011 has positively affected the leasing industry, as the latest Ifo Investment Survey of German Leasing Companies shows, which was conducted together with the Federal Association of German Leasing Companies. In 2011, annual average growth in new business with equipment showed a growth of 11.8% up to 46 billion euros. The traditionally volatile real estate leasing sector is expected to decline, after the rapid rise in the previous year by 40%. For leasing as a whole this means an expected growth of 7% in 2011.
