Postscript: Flight from Germany? Businesses between economic logic and social responsibility

Author

Listed:
  • Roland Berger

Abstract

From 27 to 29 Mai 2005 the Akademie für politische Bildung, Tutzing, organised a conference on "Outsourcing". Supplementing the three contributions in ifo Schnelldienst 13/2005, the presentation of Dr. Roland Berger, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, is documented here. He argues that offshoring helps firms to survive in global competition. "Offshoring" is a symptom of the fact that the international division of labour has changed and that high wage countries must become more innovative in order to maintain their prosperity."
