Production, value added and employment in manufacturing

Abstract

In recent years the growth rates of statistical production values and growth rates of value added have diverged greatly in German manufacturing. From 1995 to 2003 the rise in real production values is estimated at 18.8% but that of real added value only at 5.0%. This means that the imports of intermediate products has increased.
