Abstract

Extending the discussion in ifo Schnelldienst 19/2003 on creating a regulatory authority to introduce more competition in the energy market, Dr. Eberhard Meller, executive director of the Federation of Electricity Suppliers (VDEW) in Berlin presents the standpoint of his organisation. Among other things, he points out that with regard to the content of the regulation, "from the viewpoint of the VDEW the demand must be made that those who frame the regulation build on findings and experience gained since the market opening and that they integrate, as much as possible ,the well-proved standardisation of the association declaration II plus (VV II plus) into the regulatory framework.
