Abstract

The business climate in the producing sector also trended downward in October. In west Germany, with a balance of minus 26.2%, the lowest value since August 1993 has been reached. Firms are more pessimistic, especially regarding the business outlook. In east Germany a very slight change for the better in the business climate was registered. A clear improvement in the business climate was reported by wholesalers.
