Abstract

Vor der Jahr 2000-Umstellung sind nahezu alle Computernutzer betroffen. Eine Sonderfrage, die das ifo Institut im April den am ifo Konjunkturtest teilnehmenden westdeutschen Industrieunternehmen gestellt hat, läßt allerdings darauf schließen, daß die meisten Firmen bereits Vorkehrungen getroffen haben oder an der Bekämpfung eventuell auftretender Fehler arbeiten. Nur knapp jedes zehnte Industrieunternehmen plant den Aufbau zusätzlicher Lagerbestände, um möglichen Unterbrechungen der Liefer- und Produktionsketten vorzubeugen. Von diesen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen könnte in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 1999 ein leichter Impuls auf die Industrieproduktion ausgehen.
