    Abstract

    In auffallendem Gegensatz zur wachsenden Bedeutung der Baumaßnahmen zur Erhaltung und Modernisierung des Bauwerksbestandes steht die Beobachtung, daß es über die Ausgangsgrößen, also die Wohnungsbestände sowie insbesondere den Bestand an Nichtwohngebäuden, keine aktuellen vollständigen und differenzierten Daten gibt. Diese Aussage gilt für alle westeuropäischen Staaten und damit für den rasch weiter zusammenwachsenden europäischen Immobilien- und Bauleistungsmarkt. Die EUROCONSTRUCT-Institute in Deutschland,Frankreich, Großbritannien, Italien und Spanien haben mit abgestimmten Definitionen und Verfahren, aber aufbauend auf den unterschiedlichen nationalen Erfahrungen und Datensystemen, eine erste Schätzung der gesamten Gebäudebestände am 1.1.98 in diesem Teil Westeuropas vorgelegt.
