Neue Bundesländer: Industrieinvestitionen auf dem Weg zum

Abstract

Nach den Ergebnissen des ifo Investitionstests investierte die ostdeutsche Industrie 1998 rund 15 Mrd. DM. Mit 8,5% ist der Rückgang gegenüber 1997 wesentlich geringer ausgefallen als nach den ersten bereits 1997 vorliegenden Informationen befürchtet. Die Planungen für 1999 lassen auf eine ähnlich hohe Stufe hinunter zur Normalität schließen: Wenn die gemeldeten Projekte realisiert werden, ist mit einer Abnahme um etwa 8% auf 13,8 Mrd. DM zu rechnen. Maßgeblich für das nach wie vor verhältnismäßig hohe Gesamtniveau sind umfangreiche Projekte der chemischen und der elektrotechnischen Industrie sowie einige weitere große Vorhaben, die inzwischen ins Realisierungsstadium getreten sind, aber auch die günstige konjunkturelle Situation einer Reihe von Branchen.
