Unternehmen in Deutschland stärker europaorientiert : Ergebnisse einer ifo Umfrage zu den Standort- und Wohnortpräferenzen deutscher Manager

Abstract

Das ifo Institut, das sich seit längerem mit der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Regionen befaßt, hat im Juni 1998 im Auftrag des manager magazins 1000 Manager verschiedener Wirtschaftszweige telefonisch zu ihren Standort- und Wohnortpräferenzen in Europa interviewt. Im Herbst 1993 waren dieselben Fragen an Industriemanager gerichtet worden, in diesem Sekor lassen sich deshalb Vergleiche ziehen. Hier fällt auf, daß heute bei der Planung einer neuen Produktionsstätte die Wahl wesentlich seltener auf den bisherigen Standort fällt als vor fünf Jahren und als Alternative häufig EU-Länder angegeben werden. Nach wie vor hoch im Kurs bei potentiellen Investoren aus der Industrie steht Osteuropa.
