Asien- und Rußlandkrise halten die Welt weiter in Atem : Ergebnisse des 61. ifo Konjunkturtest International (KTI) vom Juli 1998

Abstract

Im Juli hat das ifo Institut zum 61. Mal seinen vierteljährlichen ifo Konjunkturtest International (KTI) durchgeführt. Die von Asien und Rußland ausgehenden Turbulenzen führten im Durchschnitt der 67 in die Umfrage einbezogenen Länder zu einer deutlichen Abkühlung des Wirtschaftsklimas. Vor allem die Aussichten für die nächsten sechs Monate (Sept. 1998 - Febr. 1999) wurden wesentlich ungünstiger beurteilt als im April. Nach wie vor recht freundlich ist die Atmosphäre in Westeuropa, und in Mittel- und Osteuropa hat sich das Klima sogar leicht verbessert. Eine Sonderfrage ergab, daß der Euro gut Chancen hat,zu einer wichtigen Reserve- und Transaktionswährung zu werden.
