Wie wirkt sich die Asienkrise auf die deutsche Industrie aus?

Abstract

In den zurückliegenden Jahren (ca. 1993-1996) hatte das hohe Wachstum in Asien der Expansion der Weltwirtschaft Impulse gegeben. Eine Präsenz vor Ort war Unternehmen empfohlen worden, um von dieser Entwicklung zu profitieren. Die Finanzkrise des Jahres 1997 hat plötzlich strukturelle Schwächen aufgezeigt, die Fragen nach den Auswirkungen auf die Weltwirtschaft und die Perspektiven für die weitere Entwicklung in der Region aufwerfen. In diesem Aufsatz wird das Thema aus dem Blickwinkel der deutschen Industrie behandelt, wobei davon ausgegangen wird, daß das Schlimmste auf dem Finanzmärkten überstanden ist und die meisten der von der Krise betroffenen Länder in Südostasien und Südkorea auf dem Wege der Konsolidierung sind. Das Ergebnis der Analyse zeigt, daß sich die Belastungen für die deutsche Industrie bisher in Grenzen gehalten haben.
