Abstract

Der vorliegende Bericht gibt einen Überblick über die gesamtwirtschaftliche Entwicklung in Finnland im Jahr 1997 und prognostiziert die zukünftige Entwicklung für die folgenden zwei Jahre. Demnach nahm 1997 das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt mit 5,9% zu und die Arbeitslosenquote sank um fast zwei Prozentpunkte auf 14,5%. Die Indikatoren deuten darauf hin, daß sich die gesamtwirtschaftliche Expansion 1998 verlangsamt. Für das reale BIP kann aber noch mit einem Wachstum von 4,5% gerechnet werden. Die Arbeitslosenquote dürfte dabei auf etwa 13% sinken. Die Verbraucherpreise werden mit rund 2% etwas rascher steigen als im Vorjahr (1,2%). Im Jahr 1999 verliert die Konjunktur deutlich an Dynamik, dennoch dürfte das reale BIP um 3,5% expandieren. Am stärksten wird dabei die Ausfuhr von Gütern und Diensten mit 6,5% steigen. Die Arbeitslosenquote könnte auf etwas unter 12% zurückgehen. Der Anstieg der Konsumentenpreise wird sich wahrscheinlich auf 2,0% bis 2,5% beschleunigen. Die Konvergenzkriterien des Maastricht-Vertrags konnten damit alle erfüllt werden.
