Strukturwandel in der japanischen Distribution - günstige Perspektiven für das Japangeschäft deutscher Unternehmen

Abstract

Japan gilt als äußerst schwieriger Exportmarkt. Nach der weitgehenden Beseitigung von tarifären Handelshemmnissen und Investitionsbeschränkungen beklagten ausländische Unternehmen vor allem die Intransparenz des japanischen Distributionssystems. Allerdings hat sich auch hier in den letzten Jahren einiges zum Positiven verändert. Nicht zuletzt als Reaktion auf die ausländische Kritik wurden einige besonders strukturkonservierende Regelungen gelockert und der Weg zu mehr Wettbewerb in der Distribution geebnet. Obwohl sich durch die Währungskrise im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum die - ohnehin für 1998 und 1999 nicht sehr rosigen - Wachstumsaussichten der japanischen Wirtschaft weiter eingetrübt haben, bleibt Japan als Markt attraktiv, denn zum einen beschleunigt sich durch die Rezession der Strukturwandel, zum anderen bemüht sich die japanische Regierung durch verschiedene Fördermaßnahmen um ausländische Investoren. Schließlich wird Japan stärker als Europa und die USA an dem nach der Überwindung der Krise wieder einsetzenden Aufschwung in der Region partizipieren.
