Messestandort Sachsen-Anhalt

Abstract

Für die Sicherung und Stärkung des Absatzes ostdeutscher Produkte ist die Mittlerfunktion von Messen und Ausstellungen zwischen der anbietenden und der nachfragenden Wirtschaft besonders wichtig. Trotz des intensiveren Wettbewerbs zwischen Messestandorten mit überregionalem Anspruch ist das Land Sachsen-Anhalt bestrebt, die sich in Magdeburg, Halle und Dessau entwickelnden Messeaktivitäten zu fördern, um auf diese Weise die Absatzanstrengungen der regionalen Wirtschaft zu verstärken und den Umbauprozeß durch die Information über aktuell verfügbare Technologien vor Ort zu unterstützen. Das Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Technologie und Verkehr des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt beauftragte das ifo Institut, ein Konzept für einen Messestandort Sachsen-Anhalt zu entwickeln. Das Gutachten kam zu dem Ergebnis, daß sich in Magdeburg und Halle, nicht jedoch in Dessau die Errichtung einer permanenten Messeinfrastruktur empfiehlt; die Favorisierung eines Standortes verbietet sich aufgrund der in Sachsen-Anhalt gegebenen räumlichen Wirtschaftsstruktur, die kein überragendes Zentrum kennt. Mit der Trägerschaft der Messeaktivitäten sollten grundsätzlich private Unternehmen betraut werden.
