Konturen eines großchinesischen Handelsblocks

Abstract

Wenn von Blockbildung im internationalen Handel die Rede ist, so ist üblicherweise die "Triade" EG-USA-Japan gemeint. Es spielt aber bereits ein vierter Block eine immer wichtigere Rolle: Die von Chinesen dominierten Staaten und Staatskörperschaften sind dabei, ein Handels- und Wirtschaftsimperium aufzubauen, bei dem die Bindungen von Sprache, Kultur und Geschichte politische Differenzen immer wieder überbrücken. Die Bedeutung des von der VR China, Hongkong, Macao, Taiwan und Singapur bestimmten großchinesischen Raums sowie des sogenannten "äußeren Rings", zu dem Nord- und Südkorea, die Philippinen, Indonesien, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam und die Mongolei gehören, für den internationalen Handel und als Standort ausländischer Direktinvestitionen wird schon bis zur Jahrtausendwende ständig wachsen. Die Entwicklung in Osteuropa, aber auch die wirtschaftliche und soziale Zukunft der westlichen Industrieländer dürfte davon nicht unerheblich beeinflußt werden - und keineswegs nur im positiven Sinn.
