Großhandel : differenziertes Struktur- und Leistungsbild

Abstract

Mit rund 1,2 Mill. Beschäftigten (1987) und einem Umsatz von 950 Mrd. DM (1990) stellen die fast 115.000 Unternehmen des Großhandels einen wichtigen Wirtschaftsfaktor dar. Nach den Berechnungen des ifo-Instituts war der deutsche Großhandel 1988 zu 41% in den gesamten Inlandsabsatz eingeschaltet (Zentralstufe: 13%, Regionalstufe 28%). Der Einschaltungsgrad,der allerdings in den einzelnen Warenbereichen erhebliche Unterschiede aufweist, hat sich damit seit 1980 geringfügig erhöht. Die Untersuchung hat gezeigt, daß im westdeutschen Großhandel ein Polarisierungsprozeß im Gange ist: Während ein relativ kleiner Teil leistungsfähiger und moderner Unternehmen den wachsenden Anforderungen der Marktpartner gerecht wird, fällt das Gros der Betriebe leistungsmäßig zurück.
