Beschäftigungsperspektiven für Frauen in den neuen Bundesländern

Abstract

Von den rd. 8,5 Mill. ständig Berufstätigen in den fünf neuen Bundesländern waren 48,8 % oder 4,165 Mill. Frauen. Der Anteil der erwerbstätigen Frauen an der weiblichen Bevölkerung im aktiven Alter betrug 1989 78,1 % (in der Bundesrepublik 1988: 49,6 %). In den folgenden Bereichen waren jeweils mehr als die Hälfte der Beschäftigten weiblich : Post- und Nachrichtenwesen (69,0 %), Handel (71,9 %), Dienstleistungen (57,9 %), Erziehung (77,0 %), Gesundheitswesen (83,0 %), soziale Dienste (91,6 %) und staatliche Verwaltung (65,2 %). Die Frauen in Ostdeutschland erreichten 75 %,in Westdeutschland 55 % des durchschnittlichen Einkommens männlicher Erwerbstätiger. Die hohe Erwerbsbeteiligung der Frauen war nur durch sozial-politische Maßnahmen möglich (z.B. Arbeitszeitverkürzung für Mütter, Hortplätze, Kindertagesstätten). Durch die Einführung der Marktwirtschaft sind bis jetzt 25 % der bisher Erwerbstätigen vom Rückgang des Arbeitsbedarfs betroffen. Im November 1990 waren knapp 55 % der Arbeitslosen Frauen. Unter den etwa 700.000 Personen, die im September 1990 die Mindestrente von 495,- DM erhielten, waren fast ausschließlich Frauen.
