Investitionen der öffentlichen Wasserwirtschaft kräftig gestiegen

Abstract

Obwohl der Wasserbezug aus dem öffentlichen Wassernetz 1989 nur um ca. ein Viertel höher war als vor 20 Jahren, haben sich die Investitionsausgaben der WVU (Wasserversorgungsunternehmen) in diesem Zeitraum mehr als verdoppelt. Die Diskrepanz ist nur teilweise auf Verteuerungen bei den relevanten Investitionsgütern zurückzuführen. Sie resultiert vielmehr vor allem daraus, daß einerseits der spezifische Wasserverbrauch der Kleinverbraucher kaum mehr gewachsen ist und der Wasserbezug der Industrie absolut gerechnet sogar um ein Drittel schrumpfte, während andererseits laufend neue Kunden an das Netz angeschlossen und zusätzliche Wassergewinnungsanlagen in Betrieb genommen werden mußten. Außerdem stiegen angesichts zunehmender Beeinträchtigung der Rohwasserqualität die Investitionserfordernisse der Aufbereitungsanlagen. Insgesamt hat die öffentliche Wasserwirtschaft ihre Investitionen 1989 um reichlich ein Zehntel auf 2,53 Mrd. DM gesteigert, und 1990 wird die Zuwachsrate voraussichtlich nicht niedriger ausfallen.
