Vor der Golfkrise : Weltwirtschaft unverändert positiv

Abstract

Kurz vor dem Ausbruch der Golfkrise wurde die Weltwirtschaftslage im Durchschnitt der 59 untersuchten Länder im ifo-Konjunkturtest International als zufriedenstellend beurteilt. Wesentlich ungünstiger als im Durchschnitt aller Länder fielen die Meldungen für Osteuropa, die Ölexportländer mittleren Pro-Kopf-Einkommens und die nicht der EG angehörigen Mittelmeerländer aus. Betrachtet wurden das Wirtschaftsklima, Konsumklima und Investitionsklima. In den Niedrigeinkommensländern hat sich das Konsumklima auf relativ hohem Niveau stabilisiert. Im Hinblick auf die Entwicklung des Außenhandels dominieren weltweit nach wie vor positive Erwartungen. Das Investitionsklima für ausländische Investoren wurde im Durchschnitt der Entwicklungsländer als schlecht eingestuft, hingegen hat es sich in Argentinien, Brasilien und Mexico verbessert. Die Inflation wurde im Durchschnitt aller 59 Länder erneut als Hauptproblem genannt.
